Venue: Virtual (register here for the Zoom link)
The IDRE Early Career Researchers (ECR) group is pleased to host a panel discussion on applications of AI technology in research computing. The panel will be led by the following new IDRE fellows (2024-2025) from various disciplines across the UCLA campus.
- Barbara Lopez-Doriga, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
- Claire Schollaert, Environmental Health Sciences
- Eulanca Liu, Radiation Oncology
- Mo Zhou, Mathematics
- Hesam Soleimani, Civil Engineering
- Tsukasa Yoshinaga, Head and Neck Surgery
IDRE fellows will initiate the event with introductions and their lightning talks, followed by Q&A and discussion. They will explore how AI technology revolutionizes research methodologies and allows for analyzing and predicting complex datasets, fueling innovation in fields ranging from medical science to engineering and mathematics. The panel will also discuss how machine learning harnesses high-performance computing (HPC) resources to process large datasets.
