Contextualizing AI for Academic Research and Writing

UCLA students, faculty and staff are invited to register for this workshop and discussion of generative AI, its impact on academic research and writing, and comparison to traditional research methods. Led by a UCLA librarian and a UCLA Library instructional designer, this 60-minute workshop will focus on understanding and contextualizing A.I.’s applications and limitations in research tasks, such as developing research topics and questions, identifying and summarizing scholarly sources, and more. Instructors will also discuss various social and ethical issues related to AI use.
This workshop will be offered in person at Charles E. Young Research Library (YRL), Main Conference Room, first floor.
